Last summer there was a thread that stepped through setting and operating suggestions for using the Inon Z240's Not just what Ryan had on the Reef website. I even think Dr Mustard chimed in.
It could have been turned into a really good start up guide.
I can't seem to find it and I was going to send it to a friend in Bonaire.
Can anyone help me out.
Thanks

INON America are VERY protective of the English manuals. The issue of grey imports, which have Japanese manuals, is a big concern to them.
But I have the English manuals scanned as jpegs plus a few supporting documents which I gleaned from other users. PM me your email address and I'll send them over.

I don't blame them to a certain degree... guess they have to protect that massive mark up... Inon Z-240's go for roughly USD550 (at current exchange rates) in Japan vs USD750 that Inon America asks for <_< ...
At least they could do a better job translating the manual to English...

Thats why Yuzo Kanda always gets my business... And you think US prices are a rip-off? Try living in the UK!

I do. Trying to f**k the customer to protect their own distribution channel is a very scummy strategy. The world has changed, business is going global and these idiots think that they can prevent that by withholding the manual. Way to be nice to the guy who is actually paying for your products, guys.
I have a very good mind to scan an English version of their manual and put it online or on a PPP network, just out of spite. This sort of behavior really gets me cranky.

Like many here, I bought a Z-240 from Yuzo and just days ago a second one so information is in Japanese. I found some manuals and information on Inon website in English. Not the full proper manual but enough that I could work out how to set thing up with the Z-240's even if it was talking about one of the other models. Not perfect or ideal but a start.
I often want to read the manual BEFORE buying a product as its frequently the little things about it that either sell or don't sell it for me. If a manual isn't available I tend to make the assumption the product is questionable.

Setting up an international business network where each region has to be profitable makes for critical decisions that often preclude the regional customer's benefits. It's only when you need warranty service in your home country will you appreciate this.
FYI, copying the manual and/or distributing it is an infringement of Inon's copyrights and is illegal in many countries.
Actually this is a better manual and its from one of those "scummy" vendors sites . I think before we tar and feather these folks remember just a couple of things. Is it possible that the prices are not as amicable here for other reasons than vendor greed? How many vendors would turn your strobe around in a few days, give you a loaner if necessary? We all buy where we feel we can afford the item. We should do the research and understand what we're buying, including all the finer details, before we make the purchase. We're free to buy from Inon in Japan but shouldn't complain when the service..ie manual or something else is in Japanese. If you're in the States, shipping to Florida is probably about a 3rd of what it would be to Japan for warranty issues. Other issues you face is the possibility of long turnaround times.
