Sunray 2000's lights

  1. Anyone try these yet? They looked great at DEMA but I'd like an in water opinion.

  2. The Sunray 2000 Video Lights are scheduled to start shipping until June.

  3. I'm thinking of the 1000 version so I can get lower light levels for night dives (and save some money!). No doubt the 2000s would be better for wrecks, caves etc..

  4. Anyone know how the on / off works on the Sunray 1000? I'm planning on using these with a Gates HC7 housing. I understand there is an infrared on/off link to a Lite and Motion housing's controls, but for a non-L&M I want to make sure there is still a manual power switch. And does the 3 power setting also work for non L&M housings? Are the battery pods really much negative or neutral? Anyone got a photo of these lights and how they mount to a Gates HC7 housing?

  5. If I remember rightly with the 1000's you could get a special battery tray that fits most other brands...But thats as much as I know...

  6. I believe ShawnH tried a preproduction at JASA and wrote something. Do a search in this forum.

  7. Drew is correct. I filmed for a week with the prototype 2000s. The had high and low switch, instant on/off, and 1.5 to 3 hour burn times. The lights are very bright and wide. On low setting, they are a great for close ups. I have nothing but good to say about the lights. I personally am waiting for the production 2000's. With these lights, the ability to shoot wide with lights becomes a reality. I fear the 1000's will not be wide enough.
