I was on the boat today with a local diver who had some shots of 2 pairs of pygmy seahorses on two different sites in Similans. I will keep quiet about the dive site names for now until I get a chance to check for myself next week.
Was just curious to know if anyone has ever seen or heard of them in Similans before?

yup, i saw a pygmy seahorse during my last trip in Dec 07. Can't remember the dive site though. heh heh unfortunately i had my 12-24 on...
I have seen Dwarf (Pygmy) pipe horses on a couple of sites, never a Pygmy Sea Horse (Yet!)
Can you say what species of Pygmy was in the Photo's?
Below is a Dwarf Pipe Horse from Similan
I have no idea as to what species it was as I have never seen one before, but it looked like a pygmy seahorse to me sitting in an orange gorgonian.
It wasn't the same as your pipe horse, nice pic by the way.
I will see if I can get further clarification, but we dont see each other that often, we work on different boats.
I'm pretty sure I was shown one when we were in Richelieu Rock (sp?). Though technically not in the Similan islands, its very much often part of Similan trips.
If was on an orange fan it is like to be H. denise. As a guess.
