St Croix, 1 dive's treasure

  1. Id be the first to admit that diving in Asia is generally nicer than the Caribbean. But this isnt too bad for 1 dive. We saw 2 striated frogfish next to eachother, a red/orange frogfish, and a yellow frog fish. On top of that several sea horses. St Croix isnt too shabby really :) We knew there had to be a 5th frogfish around, as people had told us there's a black one as well, but we couldnt find it.

  2. Cool Cor.

I have to say I think froggies look at their best amongst Caribbean sponges. Plus shots of them are so much less ubiquitous than ones from SE Asia.

I really enjoyed shooting cool water froggies in the Canary Islands last year.

  3. You can see why it was easy to find the yellow one :) The red one was very hard to find. Eventually I found it in 1 foot of water on a pier pillar. This is only the second time ever we've seen striated frog fish here. Quite cool to see a pair.

I like to see the frogfish on sponges as well, same with sea horses really.
