question about carry on restrictions to little cayman or cayman brac

Can anyone tell me what the carry on luggage protocol is for the twin Otter from Grand Cayman to Little Cayman or Cayman Brac? Specifically I would like to know if one checks their carry on at the check in desk or do you bring it to the plane and leave it on the tarmac to be loaded before going up the steps to the plane or do you actually bring it on to the plane. I am leaving for Brac this Saturday and I really need to know.
Thanks,

Everytime I have gone from Grand Cayman to Little Cayman, Island Air or who ever is now making that run, will check your bags at the counter and they will carry it to the tarmac. It is loaded on the plane for you and you will normally be required to put the smaller carry on luggage in the wing compartments. There is only room in the rear of the plane for larger luggage.
Often, if your bags are too heavy or too many, they will generallly arrive on the next flight. They make that run a few times a day so you usually don't have to worry about getting your gear. If you fly late in the day, you might have to wait to the next day for a bag.
be prepared to pay for your luggage, Cayman Air has a much smaller free baggage allowance on the otters than larger planes. They always want to check all my luggage at the counter and I tell them my carry on is camera/scuba gear and I will hand to to the pilot to "gate check" so I can be sure it ges on the plane.
Hi,
I flew that leg last May. I had a big carry-on with my camera and lenses. They didn't weigh my carry-on and they let me carry it out to the plane and place it on the ground by the baggage compartment.
We had to pay overweight baggage on our hard case and scuba bags of $.50 per pound which I thought was worth it. We had an afternoon flight so didn't get our camera hard-sided case until the next afternoon.
Cheers
James
