Been using the YS-90's since I started shotting u/w and am now looking to upgrade to either the DS-125's or YS-250's. Looking for more power for WA and also a faster recycle time...
Now the YS-250's have been out for a while - how are people finding them? Anyone switched from the DS-125's to the YS-250's or vice versa? And why?
Is the light from the DS-125's much warmer than the YS-250's?
Many thanks for any input.
Cheers
Col.
DS-125 is not as powerful as YS-250. Ikelite DS-200 is a model to compare.
I had quite a few Ikelite strobes (SS-300, SS-200s, DS-200, DS-50) and DS-125 is one that gave me the most headache.
I had two DS125's and they both broke!
I have never had any trouble with Inon or S&S strobes...
The ONLY reason that I would buy Ike strobes is if I owned an Ike house for my camera.
I had two Ike houses and will never own another one. So it looks as if I won't be owning
any more of his strobes either... yippee,...woohoo...

It's my case, I have two DS-125. For WA backlighting it's not the best gear. At least in my experience.
Now I have upgraded to YS-250 and with only one WA dive I had noticed the difference (al least 2 EV).
I will use YS-250 even for macro. My DS-125 will go to the "sales" dpt.
I have Ike housing and I will loose TTL (useful in macro), but I prefer YS-250 ....
