  1. I have just finished shooting in pool with a model. Beautiful girl, but beside her beauty her performance in the water was excelent.

  2. Dobry Martin

The b/w #1 would've absolutely gorgeous if the water didn't ripple.

For that reaso, I like #2 the most, even though the head was cut off. I enjoy symmetry in these sort of shots.

  3. Simply breath taking shots.

    Thank you for sharing...

  4. Spectacular, she certainly has great control in the water.

    Very, very nice.

  5. Outstanding work.

I disagree with Drew. I think the ripple adds to the shot. Very nice images.

    1st shot is stunning.

  8. Truly amazing series.

I also prefer the water ripples in no. 1

  9. Stunning Martin. So in looking I'm wondering if there are techniques on strobe placement that make reflections better, easier, higher quality, etc. I've ask before and not gotten any answers, Is that because it's a dumb question or it's a secret? I've filled scratch paper with optical path drawing trying to understand the difference between placing strobes low and firing up vs high and all I do is confuse myself. Since you obviously have got it down to a science I was wondering if you had any thoughts. Thanks again for sharing!

Steve, actualy this is an interesting question. Beside water quality, surface calmness the way of lighting surely plays a role here, but I think surface only reflects what there realy is. That said I am always focusing on what I see and play with the light to achieve the best lightning of subject itself. Once the model is lit nicely, it is a matter of composing and timing to get the right reflection effect. And matter of time spent in the pool, of course :P The way the model behaves in the water plays important role too!
