Just ordered new toys

  1. Hi All-

I just decided to take the plunge into video. 99% of it will be freshwater wrecks for our local underwater preserve. I ordered a L&M Bluefin housing with monitor back, an HC9, and am considering Vegas Pro 8.0 as my editing software. I haven't decided on lights yet. My LDS is anticipating a new LED light from Dive Rite soon that might be within my budget.

Anyway, I'll probably be posting some newbie questions soon but will be a good boy and do a search before I post.

Thanks in advance for all your help when I need it.

    Chris

  2. Hi Chris et al.

I too am just getting started in underwater video. My underwater kit arrived a couple days ago, and I had it in the swimming pool yesterday for a check-out. I have the HDR-CX7 in a Seatool Housing with an Inon wide-angle lens and a couple of Fisheye FIX lights. Am also considering Vegas as the editing platform.

My primary goal is just to capture some good memories of my trips overseas and underwater. I am going to the Philippines this Friday for 10 days for my first try with the video.

I am glad to see your post, and look forward reading more from you in the future! And for what its worth, i will share my experiences here as well.

Sharp website you have, by the way.

    Mike

  3. congrats on the new gear! have fun with it

  4. Having done a little more research and talking with guys at the local TV station, I'm now leaning towards Avid/Pinnancle Liquid 7. It looks like a lot of stuff for $450. I'm also keeping my eyes open for a wide angle lens. Does anyone know of any options for the L&M Bluefin besides the $900 or $2700 ports they offer?
