CP5000 Macro with the 19 mm WA

5 posts
  1. My first atempt with the WA 19 mm lens.

Not to much visibility and not to good ambients pics! The result has not been very satisfactory

I must try it again next week end!

I shot some macro pics with the new lens, and I think the work is not bad.

One problem is the exposure. I have the camera in partial metering mode and I think matrix would be better. I do it next time underwater!

  2. Hi Mariano,

If you are interested, I've written a document that you has a couple of tips for shooting images with the CP5000.

Have a look at the front page of my website for the document:

    The Underwater Photo Gallery

When shooting Macro I have found that using Spot Metering works best, that way you can focus on the centre of your subject, make sure if you have your aperture at F8 to get the best depth of field result.

    Cheers,

    Dave.

  3. Hi Dave:

    Thanks for your answer.

I´ve read your article, very interesting and clear!

I shot with exposure mode in Manual (spot), but what about the metering mode? Partial or matrix?

    Thanks

    Mariano

  4. Hi Gang,

If the camera is set to manual, then it does not use its internal light meters to expose the shot. You tell it the aperture and shutterspeed, it doesn't use matrix or spot metering to decide. Make sense?

What it does use is the flash meter (little black hole) to decide how much flash to use - if you are using external flash.

  5. James:

thanks for the explanation, something must to be bad because my pics are overexposed and I shot in TTL.

perhaps the internal flash control must be in -2,0 and I set it to -1,3 (for the external flash, because I use it)

perhaps I must work in manual not in TTL? Is easy for me do it in TTL!

Well I try this configurations the next dive.

And thanks for your aclaration with the internal light meter works!

    Mariano
