  1. Here's a pic taken yesterday at Emerald Bay, Catalina Island. Don't have the exposure info here at work. Not the best exposure, workingwith very low light under the canopy

  2. This theme has AWESOME potential!

I'm a little disappointed with the detail in the ray - the dorsum should'nt have blown out like that :P

    What camera do you shoot?

Keep working on this theme - if the ray (or other creature) decides to cooperated you'll have a real winner!

  3. Thanks - I suspect a slow shutter speed resulted in the lack of detail. And the blowouts are all too common with my 5050. I've tried (quickly) photoshopping them, but it was looking worse, so I left it as is.

  4. Chris, this is so close to incredible its unreal. The lighting and position of the ray are superb.

Try, cropping the bejesus out of this and do a litle cloning and leveling to lessen the impact of the blowouts.

I spent about 2 minutes to give you an idea of what you might try.....

Its not the best, but this is good enough that if I were you I would spend some serious time with it.

PS: As I look at this, I think I cropped too much

  5. Thanks bob - I was just getting too frustrated. I'll try spending more time on it. Just my luck. Great composition, crummy exposure :P
