    Olympus 790sw

Also i do not mind a cemra where i have a seperate housing

    Many Thanks in advance

  2. Olympus gets high marks from most users. i dont know anything about the other two you list though. Another one to look at would be a Canon in the same price range

  3. As far as I can see none of those cameras will fit your requirements as all have very limited depth ranges (both the w30 and olympus only go to 3m), so are really only suited for snorkeling and not diving. To take them diving you'd need a housing, but as each of these cameras cost approx £200 on their own, I can't see how you'd get the cameras + housings within your budget. Did you mean the vivitar 5188 - I can't find a 6188? This costs a fraction of the price and goes to 15m. Again, not sure how deep you'll be diving but I wouldn't risk taking that diving. Plus the fact that there's not much feedback on the brand so could be far inferior to the other makes like olympus and canon etc. But I suppose at £40 it would be a good souvenir photo type camera for shallow dives/snorkeling.

I'm also looking for an economic underwater starter set up and looking at the canon a570is with housing, coming in at about £250 maximum. It gets good reviews and is cheap considering the results it produces - that might be an option?

Perhaps you could clarify how deep you'll be diving and also whether your £200 budget needs to cover the housing and camera, or just camera?
