I just updated my website with a small selection of pictures from Christmas Island and the Cocos (Keeling) Islands in the Indian Ocean (West Australia). We visited both islands in October last year, unfortunately just before the Great Red Crab Migration and arrival of the whalesharks. Nevertheless, both islands are still worth visiting!

indeed, it's a dugong and his name is Kat. Unfortunately he's quit shy in general and he can be quit moody. I could take only one shot and then he left...
That's what I thought, I just never realized their tail was so different from our manatees
