Plug adapters for Indonesia

7 posts
  1. I've got a couple, but need to get some more. Are the ones advertised for "US to Europe" the same as the two round prongs that are needed for Indonesia?

    Universal Adapter

  2. Those will work. You will find standard "US" type plug sockets in many hotels/resorts in Indonesia. Make sure your electronic device is 110-240V compatible before plugging it in.

  3. i just use one adapter and plug my US power strip into it. then i have 6 US plugs to plug in my US ones. works a charm

Where in Indonesia are you going?

Raja Ampat. I hear the diving is OK there.

I would suggest you get at least one with a surge protector on it. Many boats only have a few voltage regulated plugs and the current varies greatly when they switch generators, turn the engine etc. I've lost a few chargers over the years. Doesn't happen often, but it invariably happens when I'm 300km away from a store.

The diving is only bearable in R4.

  6. If you are using an adapter into a US power strip, make sure the power strip is rated for 220/240 volts. Your charger may be 110/240, but most over look the strip rating!

  7. good point about surge protector, i have already blown one here. nice smell!

I now have a 6 plug surge protector strip from Belkin. works quite nicely. They also have an 8 plug one
