  1. It won gold last week in Scandinavias most prestigious advertising festival in the alternative media category. Image shot by Alex in the Red Sea. It was also nominated in the PR-category, as it created quite some attention...

So, now it's not only John B who can brag about being an award winning advertising photographer :D

    cheers

  2. Cool. :D

Christian - you'll have to send me the details.

I don't think I can take much credit as I doubt that the photo had much to do with it. More where you guys put it.

  3. It was a special purpose built lit ad shell. We put it in 6 metres on a featureless muddy/sandy bottom in the Stockholm archipelago (Baltic Sea) which is frequently used by the dive schools here for OW training. Needless to say, the vivid Red Sea image contrasted quite nicely to the green murky waters. The client is a travel agent who arrange good value trips to a couple of Red Sea destinations as well as other places in the world. The ad was created in a work shop at my agency when we discussed how to give 'regular' sales/price ads more impact. It was just a too quirky idea to not follow through on. And your image certainly helped to make it look just right. It stod there for about a month and was then removed.

    Here's a short youtube clip:

It created quite some discussion in media over here and was also noted in international press. Hopefully it will gain some attention in the international advertising award shows later this year.

    Cheers

  4. Congrats Alex!

  5. Great idea; the YouTube video is funny. I could imagine a whole series of video travel ads for sunnier locations. Billboards in the snow etc!

Of course a great pic from Alex is a bonus.
