Subal ND30 - gear size

Hey guys

I'm eagerly awaiting my Subal ND30 housing for my Nikon D300. My dealer has just told me that Subal have changed the gear sizing for the ND30 and my lenses will need new gears to fit. Oy!

Anyone run into this problem?

I received my ND30 last week and it looks like the gear size changes are pretty minor. There are a couple of change that affects me so far. The nikon 28-70 f2.8 used to be zoomed by direct pressure of the zoom wheel on the lens barrel and now the zoom wheel doesn't reach the lens barrel.

The other two that affect me are on the 60mm macro and 105 macro (old non AFS style). The teeth on the MF-AF gear no longer mesh with the Zoom gear. However, I still have the csm switch so I can live with that.

Other than those three things, I haven't found anything else in my kit that has changed.

Just ordered one. This is news to me.

Did you get the larger port diameter or the old size port diameter?

Yup! It was news to me too! I learned of it right after I got the housing in my grubby little hands. I ordered the housing with the standard sized (type 3) port opening. I'm not even sure that the type 4 ports are available yet.

But I'm just as excited in spite of this!

Well the standard port size (I hope!). Otherwise I really have a problem.......
