Seacam 1D/1Ds MarkII housing

  1. I'm the original purchaser/owner of all three items.

Both camera bodies are working perfectly, and are in great condition, but just so you can be sure, I will ship them to Canon for a full overhaul before delivery to you (full inspection, sensor cleaning, and body cleaning). I will also ship the housing to UCR in Miami for overhaul/service. If you want/need sooner, I will discount by the cost of those servicing processes, and you can have them done yourself.

    Seacam 1D/1Ds Mk II Housing

    $3500 (new price is $5995)

    - with body cap

    - Nikonos bulkheads

    - NO viewfinder (you must purchase a viewfinder, as well as ports, to seal the housing)

    - Seacam handles

    - ULCS handles (if you want them)

    Canon 1Ds Mk II body

    $3500

    - body cap

    - charger

    - (2) batteries

    - strap

Canon 1D Mk IIN body (this is the newer "N" body with larger screen and some other nice features)

    $2500

    - no eyecup. you can buy one easily: Canon EC-II ($14.95)

    - body cap

    - charger

    - battery

    - strap

+ actual shipping cost, will only ship to U.S. destinations. Check or paypal instant transfer only (no credit cards!). Will wait for check to clear before delivering.

I'll take off $250 if you buy the housing and any one body, and $500 if you buy all three!

All batteries hold a good charge and will last for hundreds of shots.

The Seacam housing is working perfectly. There are obviously some scuff marks from usage, but the housing itself has *never* leaked in hundreds of dives.

BTW, to get an idea what this rig will do, almost all of the underwater photos on my websites (below) were taken with one of these two bodies in this housing.

  2. Additional info on camera bodies.

Total shutter activations (both cameras are rated for 200,000 activations):

1Ds Mk II: less than 17,000

    1D Mk IIN : less than 8,000

  3. 1Ds Mark II body is tentatively sold.

Several interested people have asked for photos, and I finally found time to take some this morning of the two camera bodies (housing photos will follow later).

Here are links to photos for both cameras:

1Ds MkII and 1D MkII-N camera body photos

  4. UPDATE:

1Ds Mark II body - tentatively sold (just awaiting payment)

1D Mark II-N body - just listed on Seattle Craigs List (same price of $2,500, but without offering to pay for service). A Wetpixeler still gets a better deal (factory servicing, or a $200 allowance if you don't feel you need/want it)...and another $250 off if you buy this body AND the housing! :)

Seacam Housing - PRICE REDUCED to $3,000 (and I'll still pay to have UCR overhaul/service it)! I've got a Mark III Seacam on the way, and will need to pay for it soon, so decided to cut the price on this one to get it sold! :D

Oh, BTW, I moved the photos to:

    1Ds MkII

    1D MkIIN

    Seacam Housing

  5. ANOTHER UPDATE:

1Ds Mark II body - sale fell through (buyer couldn't pull money together), so it is back on the market for $3,500, which includes having it cleaned/serviced by Canon, or $3,300 if you don't want to bother with that (BTW, I sent this body to Canon once before - between 6,000 and 7,000 shutter activations ago - just to make sure the sensor was clean and everything was like new.)

1D Mark II-N body - Similar to above, price is $2,500 including a cleaning/servicing by Canon, or $2,300 if you don't want to bother with the cleaning/servicing. Since this body has less than 8,000 shutter activations, you might consider sending it to Canon unnecessary.

Remember...$250 off if you buy either body AND the housing! :P

Seacam Housing - REDUCED price is $3,000 and it is now AT UCR in Miami having and overhaul/servicing.

    Photos of all three:

    1Ds MkII

    1D MkIIN

Seacam Housing (Note: these are before the overhaul it's getting; it'll look much "newer" and shinier when I get it back from UCR!)

  6. Another update...

Everything in the prior post is still correct except that the 1Ds MkII is now officially SOLD (delivered and paid for). The purchaser was a fellow who drove down from Vancouver, BC. The sale price was $3,300, which - due to the sorry state of the U.S. dollar - apparently represented a "bargain" to him.

Sigh...I remember when we Yanks used to drive to Canada to buy stuff because it was "so cheap"...THOSE were the days...

  7. ANOTHER UPDATE:

1Ds Mark II body - SOLD (for US$3,300)

    1D Mark II-N body - SOLD (for US $2,300) *

Seacam Housing - REDUCED price is $3,000 and it is now AT UCR in Miami having a full overhaul/servicing. I have an interested party trying to secure approval to buy it, but as of right now it is still available.

    * Funny story about the Mark IIN: I listed it on local CraigsList, and this was one of the inquiries I got - I've got to give the kid credit for having hutspah! The "Skull Candy" headphones almost got me...if he had offered to throw in his skateboard, maybe I'd have gone for it! ;)

    > Hello, I am very interested in your Mark II.

I would like to propose a trade of a fairly new Canon XTi with a telephoto 75-300mm lens with a polarizing filter, case, 1GB Memory card, and all the manuals and boxes that came with it. Also with the XTi, a brand new 8GB Ipod Touch with a leather case and Skull Candy Low Rider headphones. Oh, and $100 cash.

I know that this does not all add up to $2300 but I am only 14 years old and I have just started BMX Photography and need a camera with more than 3.5 FPS Shooting and my mother will not let me spend over 1500 on a camera so yeah. It would be very generous of you if you would consider this trade let alone except the trade. <

  8. ANOTHER UPDATE:

1Ds Mark II body - SOLD (for US$3,300)

    1D Mark II-N body - SOLD (for US $2,300) *

Seacam Housing - Tentatively SOLD (for US$3,000) - awaiting payment
