Raja Ampat & Lembeh Straits

  1. I upgraded from my D70 to a D300 in Nov 2007. My SUBAL housing arrived on 17 March 2008 (the week before my trip) and after a few test shots it was all systems go. This was my 2nd trip to Lembeh but my first time to Raja Ampat and I was well impressed.

Warning: Diving a reef in Raja Ampat can lead to sensory overload. Having done a week of macro in Lembeh I chose to only shoot WA in Raja Ampat, but the macro opportunities there were limitless. You could dive along the same reef 4 dives in a row, and have 1 WA, 1 fish portraits, 1 reef scenes and 1 macro and all the dives/photos would be stunning.

  3. Thanks!

Nice shots: the harlequins are my favourite.

I'm planning to visit both Lembeh and Raja Ampat next year; is it safe? Will I ever want to dive in the English Channel again?

  6. I really like the Wide angle shot of the house on stilts..do you mind sharing the settings for your pix.

I'm still a rookie/newbie and every bit of info helps. All of your pictures are fantastic, I'd love to see more.

    Thanks for posting them.

    Cheers :D
