My name is Rudolf Svensen and i am a photographer living in Norway.
Last summer I spent some time in Akumal, Mexico (East Coast) and I captured a lot of images of the marine life. However I do not have to many books on Mexican marine life, so I wonder if you could help me identefying some of them?
First two types of corals:
Then a sea slug:
A sponge:
A ray:
Something I think must be a wrasse:
And finaly a parrotfish:
All images was taken at shallow water while freediving.
Best Regards Rudolf
The sea slug is T crisspata - the Lettuce Slug.
The orange thingy is a tunicate.
The last two are parrotfish - dunno the species.

The small parrotfish looks like a Red Band Parrotfish (Initial Phase)
I'd guess the first parrot fish is a Redband initial phase. The 2nd I'll leave to those who know.
I agree re the first wrasse - no doubt a Redband PF initial phase. I think the second PF is a Blue Parrotfish, initial phase ie without the squared off bump on its "forehead" that the terminal phase has.
Not sure about the ray - the photo lacks a bit of detail. The shape seems to suggest a Yellow Stingray, Urolophus jamaicensis
