Best way to fly to/from Ambon?

Just doing a little planning for next year. Is any particular route easier? The choices appear to be Bali/Makassar, Jakarta, or Manado.

Jakarta would seem the simplest. Manado would mean another swing through Singapore.

Are theredirect flights from Jakarta to Manado?

I wouldn't plan too far ahead. Lion Air and Merpati change flight schedules regularly.

We went through Ambon several months ago and it was by way of Makassar. We avoid Jakarta.

For Ambon travel, I'd schedule a slack day ito my schedule if possible.

Not sure which way is easier..I just recently returned from Ambon. landbased and liveaboard, and chose to travel through Bali, on to Makassar and then to Ambon. Given weight restrictions on luggage, I would try to take the route that involves only one of the smaller airlines. We were hit up twice for overweight luggage on the inbound flight, having to change from Garuda to a Lion Air flight in Makassar. Coming home, both flights were using Lion Air and I only paid once. On neither flight coming or going, did they weigh my carry ons.. plural.
