U-Dive in Eilat sent me an electronic copy of their new flyer. They've used some my photos taken during my trip in December. I had such a good time that we worked out a deal for the usage. It was a little surprising how much they cropped the photos, but still a great flyer.
I think this is the one that cropped. It's seen in the top right of the first page.
Congratulations Josh and nice photo.
Congratulations Josh and nice photo.
It is a very nice picture. A great pity the art director couldn't see that. It never ceases to amaze me that they always look for a picture within the picture supplied. It's as if they need to discover a picture for themselves and cannot bring themselves to use someone else's suggestion. I shoot mainly at the wide angle 10mm setting but often muse that I might as well take pictures on a 20mm lens because art directors always find it necessary to crop into a picture to 'make it their own'.
In the days of film, many old photographers used to joke that if you found 19 terrific pictures to send in but added another mediocre one to make up a sheet of 20, that would be the one chose! Like they purposefully avoid anything that is obviously good. It's a mystery of human nature, I suppose.
The original is great, Moses rock?
Yes, the photos on the first page are taken at Moses Rock. It's my favorite dive in Eilat.
