  1. In reference to my post on monitor calibration woes here:

    http://wetpixel.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=24245&hl=

I wanted to see how these two pics look. They are from the previous operating system 10.4.11 with monitor calibration from the Huey Pro that I used happily for months till it crashed my MBP multiple times.

I'm trying to figure out if my previous calibrations with the Huey were "overcooked" and led to my editing pics too "dull" and/or if the new Spyder 3 Profile is just way off....

I know the sky, etc in these two pics is not perfect but I'm more interested if they look overly "dull" especially in the cyans or if on the other end they look too contrasty or "overcooked"...... (but do remember how bright the springs are usually too...)

    Thanks a lot, Carol

Zelda demonstrates to me that she can be on either side on the boundaries... :-)

  2. On my calibrated 21" LaCie the green water seem overly saturated and the color seems tending toward a 'pine tree' shade of green. These are minor variations

Thanks that is what I needed to know. Overly saturated really helps and puts me on the correct track of what monitor device to believe.

"Pine Tree" green, well not sure about that but it might even be actual as out front of the springs the blue water mixes with very green murky water in varying amts and produces a different color scenario every time I go - but "Pine Tree" I'm not sure about. That might be a problem with my monitor profile because it should be a little more cyan in this case from what I remember of the day.

I'm going to handle this with a correct monitor profile, I'm very determined!!! :P

If I can get the ColorMunki to work and the software isn't too buggy I'll go with that as I'd like to start profiling my printer also. If not I'll go with the Xrite Eye One, of course if I can get it to work with Leopard which seems to be a bit of a challenge for some users.

Thanks for the input - it really helped,

    Regards, Carol
