Need help from sea&sea users

  1. HI

    1. Can I use the sea&sea compact dome port 6 (56601) for the Tokina 10-17 or do i need only the Nx fisheye dome port (56401)?

    2. For best quality and magnification ,to order the Macromate (x2) wet diopter or to use kenko 1.4 TC + kenko extention tubes ? ( i'm aware of the advantage of taiking off/on the wet diopter under the water).

    Thank you !!!

I am using the 8" S&S dome port for my Tokina 10-17 lens. I don't think the optics of the 6" port are correct for the Tokina lens.

Sorry, but can't answer question #2. I use a Woody diopter, for the increased flexibility.

  3. 1) At least an 8" dome I believe.....Fiseye would be better of course (as stated by the Sea & Sea charts)

    2) Diopters reduce working distance but allow same amount of light in. Tele's allow same working distance but reduces light in.

  4. udi62,

yes, you can definitely use the tokina 10-17mm with the S&S compact dome port... make sure you use it with the 20mm extension ring (SX extension ring).

here's some photos I took with the 10-17mm lens + compact dome port + SX extension ring

  6. I have recently bought NX Fisheye dome port (it`s huge:), and you dont need extension ring for it...or take Optical dome port it`s made from glass, more expensive, and much better!
