Underwater Maternity Photos - Julia

  1. I shot these underwater maternity photos for a friend of mine - Julia who is a professional makeup artist. She's 9 months pregnant in these shots - but was still able to stay underwater and look SOOOO relaxed. Total Kudos for Julia :-)

The lighting is one or two on camera strobes, a hair light (in some photos) and a 32" softbox on the right. Shot these w/ the 5D and Subal housing.

Julia also "sat" for some underwater headshots:

  2. Nice James. Lucky you did not have to deliver the baby underwater too. ;)

  3. Hi James,

I really liked 3 and 4! It's interesting to me how the reflections in 2 sort of take your eye away from the image. Too much going with the fingers? I like Julia's position with her legs tucked up as opposed to the first on where the WA is doing it's thing. Thanks for posting, I always learn so much about the light from your stuff. ;)

Here's another one that I really love from that shoot:

That shadows give you an idea of where the lights were placed.
