Sipadan Water Village or Mabul Water Bungalow

Which one is better in terms of room, facilities and food ? Internet access ?

Hi Dominic,

I have only been in Sipadan Water Village thats why i can not make a comparison based on my experience on both of these two resorts.

However when i checked the Mabul Water Bungalow web site i have seen that luxury-wise the main difference is the air conditioned rooms. Because in SWV there are only ceiling fans.

On the other hand even though i always prefer resorts with more comfort during my stay on last October i wouldn't say that i felt a necessity for air condition. The windows of water bungalows of Sipadan Water Village are without glazing and there are lots of window openings in all facades. This provides enough circulation at night time and you dont feel hot. On day time i was either diving or at the dining facility.

There is a desktop pc with internet access at the bar. There is also free of charge wifi access at the bar area. I got connected mostly in the evenings. But i wouldn't say that it always worked. However considering the remote location of the facility i dont think that the Mabul Water Bungalows located near by might have better internet connection.

If you are interested in comfort you might prefer water bungalows with outdoor jaccuzzi. I had one but only had time to use it 2-3 times during a 2 week stay.

In Mabul Water Bungalow web site it is written that they have a SPA. I am not aware of presence of a SPA in SWV. It might be a privilege of Mabul Water Bungalow over SWV if you have a non diving wife. Whereas if you would prefer to make 5 dives a day like me you wouldn't have time for that either.

I was personally satisfied with my stay in SWV. I did some of my best dives ever during those days and i will prefer to stay there during my next visit also.

At this point, I am only waiting to see who has room available !! Seems pretty busy in the summer months.

Quote a get so far MWB cost a littl more then SWV but not significant enough to cause a pain yet.
