Dear Mike,
As an avid diver/photographer and ophthalmologist (also a fellow Canadian - Newfoundland), I had to track you down and congratulate you on your terrific shot in the June "Scuba Diving" magazine. I love peacock mantis shrimp, likely because of those big eyes!
Best regards,
Arch McNamara

Mike, do you have a link to the photo, for those of us in other parts of the world?
-
Great stuff Mike! Congrats from another Canuck!

Got my mag yesterday. It is an awesome shot.

thanks again everyone, it really is one of my favourite photos for sure. the eyes on those guys are unreal
-
hey Mike, did you get a new camera? we know those old anachronistic cameras like the D70 or D80 can't take shots like that!

-
hahaha... was looking at a D300 in SIngapore the other day.. but no.....!!

Let all of us who still rush out to buy the latest kit, learn a little lesson from this! Mike's ahead because what is in front of the camera, the composition and the moment the button is pressed is more important than whether you use a D70 or a D3 (or Canon alternative).

Hi
I have been eagerly awaiting my copy of June's ScubaDiving mag based on this thread. It arrived this morning and the first thing I did was turn to the back - I must say that this picture has lived up to the hype - well done Mike, an beautiful shot
