Sardina UWphotosub contest 2008

5 posts
  1. Last weekend took place the anual splash-in contest in Sardina, in Gran Canaria with a new night dive included (plus the usual two day dives). Pics to get where pattern, macro not fish, macro fish, complete fish, and two WA. There was another special price for a seventh pic which had to be taken during the night dive. There were only allowed 40 shots for the night dive and 60 for the whole day for a total of 100. All three dives where 70 minutes and you could come out to change lenses but time kept running.

    These are the results:

My pics are these (no PS but reducing and frame):

Night dive pic: I decided to use a fisheye for a night dive in order to get a "different" night pic. Some looked at me very weird :(:o . We had to take the picture in complete darkness in order to not attract plancton as backscatter:

Congrats, nicely done. Sounds like a cool contest and liked the WA at night...

  3. great shots!

    congrats ;):o

  4. Impressive frames, congrats.

    I like the contest's rools.

  5. Nice stuff, David. That seahorse is a pretty fellow. The night shot is very nice - maybe use a longer exposure to burn in a bit more torch light? Ah - I just read your comment on not wanting to attract backscatter by leaving the torch on. In that case you could have use a slave strobe on low power as the model's torch.
