The #25A red filter is meant for black & white film photography and the purpose is to increase the contrast. I'm not sure how that would translate with u/w video. If price is your concern there are cheaper ways than buying the UR Pro or Magic filters.

  3. Take a look at this article by Craig Jones for some options to the ubiquitous UR-PRO.

There is a ton of old discussion on colour correction filters on Wetpixel. Try this search for starters.

If you're hoping to do it really on the cheap you could try a piece of standard gel lighting filter such as those made by Rosco, Lee and Formatt. There are many colours that are in a range that should help your white balance. They're not officially "optical quality" but should work depending on how fussy you are.

Please let us know what you come up with.

I could'nt find any store in this city that stocks those filters however there was this one photo lab that stcoked the Hoya 25 red,but was unsure wether it will work.Know that i know it its actually meant for black and white i will pursue these filters over the internet.Went to their webites already. They are actually cheaper than the Hoya 25 red filter.

    Thanks guys

  5. I found a whole box of Rosco filter sheets in my studio five minutes ago.I think i may have found one that works.
