Need help - Sony DSC P1

Hi, guys & gals! I need helps on my Sony DSC P1. I have been using it with Sony Marine Pack housing for U/W shoots for the past 8 months.

Can I add on strobe & lens - filter, marco & wide on the Sony housing?

I don't mind making some simple modification on the housing.

It's kind of frustated when the camera can't take small marco stuffs like pimgy seahouse when I was in Manado.

as far as I know SONY offered two

accesories for this housing:

1) an external red filter

2) an attachable videolight with arm

You should ask a local SONY dealer in

your country. If you are lucky they are

using the same components for the P5.

In this case it might be easy to get them.

But warning this stuff was not very cheap.

Anything else (like strobes)

might be pioneers work.

... offers additional equipment, but only (?) for the p5. Go and ask Sea&Sea, might be it fits with the MPK-P1 housing.

They supply a lens adapter for the p5 in order to use the MMII conversion lenses like macro (1:2 and 1:3) lens and wide-angle lens.

Strobes are not that difficult. U can use slaves from ikelite, sea&sea, epoque and others.

Yo, Chironex & Andi! Thanks for the info. I managed to get the Sea & Sea Bayonet Adapter for DSC P1 housing. Sea & Sea in Japan reproduced 500 more adapter, the adapter was discontinued 8 months ago.

Singapore's Sea & Sea dealer managed to get 5 out of 10 ordered. It's selling fast. I was the third who got hold of it. I also got myself the 2T marco lens.

As for the strobe, I think I'll get it later when stocks are in.

Hope to get some marco shoots when I leave for Pulau Tioman end of this month.
