  1. I just returned from some diving off Morehead city. Here are my favorites from the dives. Let me know what you think.

  2. Great shots. I like the second especially. What species is this?

  3. The locals called it a segmented starfish. Sounded good to me.

  4. Sandy, were you diving at some of the wrecks? I loved diving there a few years ago.

  5. scottyb,

Yes we were diving some of the wrecks out of Morehead City. My husband divemasters on the DiverDown. We love the diving there. Even though we live in PA we make it down there several times a summer to help crew the boat and do some great diving. There is some great history there. We dive regularly on the U-352, one of the few diveable German subs, along with many WWI and WWII wrecks. The life on the wrecks is incredible. We go out pretty far to or near the Gulf stream so the water is warm (mid 70's) and the fish life is abundant. We'd love to see you down there.

  6. I was trying to get together a trip for our rescue team the week between races in Augusta and Gadsden, AL. However, nobody seems to have the extra time this year. I will make it back again some day. I have only dove there two days where we did the Aeolus and the Indra. Amazingly, we had flat seas but we were told not to expect that next time.

  7. Scottyb,

It's a little bit of a bummer that you had flat seas and did the Aeolus and the Indra. Thaey are both artificial reefs and although they are decent wrecks they are probably my least favorite. The Caribsea is my favorite. Tons of Sandtigers and oaded with life. Hope you can make it there sometime.

  8. The Caribsea was one of my choices but we had a couple inexperienced divers in our group and they were recommended against it. We did see several sand tigers and a bull. I know there are better wrecks out there and that is why I want to go back so badly. Although the massive size and easy penetrations alone were enough to keep us intrigued for a couple days.
