Somebody know or have bad experience with the use of the Nikon D300 or D80 and the Kenko Teleplus Pro 300 DG 2x Teleconverter?
I know a photographer with the D80 need put between the camera and the Kenko teleconverter one extension to work well (in this case the extension is also Kenko).
If he change the order - 1st the teleconverter and after the extension or the lens, the camera don't work and shut down and he need restart them.
Yesterday I put one new Kenko Teleconverter in my D300 and the camera are now in the Nikon technical service, because are completely dead.
Some information about this?
Best regards,
Tigershark
I don't know about the teleconverter with the extension tube but I've been using a D2X, kenko 1.4, with the 60mm and 105mm and no problems.

Todd, I'm assuming with the Kenko TC you're going to manual focusing? Is it the 105mm VR you have or the older 105mm?
I use D300 with that TC no problem at all.

Hi Warren,
I'm a little confused.
Why do you assume that he is using manual focus with the T/C ??
I use Kenko teleconverters all the time , above and below the water,
and I only use auto focus. No problems what-so-ever...
The Kenko T/C allows the full use of the Nikon metering and focusing programs...

Hi,
My D300 are replaced by Nikon for a new one.
The electrical circuit are damage, but anything regarding the Kenko teleconverter, only the casualty the teleconverter are placed at the moment I turn the camera on.
I done one test today with the D300 and the Kenko 2x Teleconverter and everything is OK!
