  1. Hi all,

Does anyone have veiws on Nikon D80 Vs D200 in Sea & Sea Housing. Is it worth paying the extra?

What would be your reconmendations in regards to this set up.

    Thanks

  2. I've used both cameras and both housings.

I prefer the D80 camera because its lighter (I do a lot of hiking) and has much longer battery life. both cameras take exactly the same images.

I also thought the S&S D80 housing was better, the controls were easier to use, and it wasn't as heavy underwater as the D200 housing.

  3. I've got a D200, bought before there was a D80, and it is by far the most negative housed camera I've used underwater. So with Scott saying the D80 is more bouyant in a S&S housing - that would be very advantageous.

Also the body weight would be a serious plus for the D80 over the D200 when travelling.

    cheers

    Leander

  4. Isn't D80 S&S-housing half plastic?

There is actually a small difference in the D80 and D200 files, as the D80 do have some sort of compression on its RAW-files. But I don't think there is a detactable difference in image quality.
