  1. Anyone have any experience with this 8mm film underwater camera? I was wondering what the video quality was like.

  2. Hello

I had an Eumig Nautica between 1982 and 1989 and realised about 12 X 3.5 minutes film tapes.

The 8 mm film was so few sensitive (100 ASA) that I needed large amount of light - Expensive. I just had some kind of an halogen torch giving an hot spot light style.

You can see a short film performed in 1983 (Portugal - Algarve) with this s8 mm camera transcoded to digital mpeg at:

The last dive (there is always a last dive) ended at 6 meters flooded with the main O ring crashed.

    Now I have a Sony HDR - in the far future I will a - "virtual camera" - I hope ...

    Greethings,

  3. Wow, someone who talks Super8mm! Oh and it's film Marshall :D.

The one my dad gave me in the 80s is lying around in a box somewhere. If I remember it's 18fps and the shutter is a fixed 190°.

Anyhow to xfer back to digital for editing, you can pay for a professional telecine to D1 (which was stupid since all the stuff I shot when I was 10 was....errr.. not that great!).

A cheaper method is listed here:

Cheapest method is to use your HD camera and record off the screen. Quality is crap at best but I should've done that for my old holiday films.
