  1. Hi Guys,

Anyone ever pulled apart a Nikonos style bulkhead?

I need to re-wire my Nexus (Nikonos 5pin) bulkhead... :D

I need help in finding out how to get the 'inside' parts to the 'outside' ??

Is there a "twist and turn while you pull and push" motion that is necessary to get the

wiring and pins out to re-wire them?

Thanks for your help fellas...

First, you need to remove the bulkhead from the housing. Once you have it off, you'll see a small allen set screw between the main threads and the O-ring. Remove the set screw. The connectors are carried in a small plastic piece that is pressed into the main body. You can remove it by using a small tool (I used an allen wrench) placed at the base of the wires (on the inside housing side) and pushing outward. Soldering new leads onto the connectors is fidgity but not too bad.

    Thanks Dave,

That's great mate. I have been fiddling around with the bloody thing and hadn't taken the 'O'ring off and hadn't seen the little set screw... :D

Thanks for taking the time to help me out mate. Now I can do some REAL damage.... :D
