  3. If I did get only a picture half or even the quarter from a pigmy sea horse with this quality ...I will not wonder if pigmy are fashionable or not !!!

    Congratulations !!

  4. Wow, really beautiful shots! So what lenses did you use? The frontals on the porcupine and the pygmy are incredible.

  5. So what lenses did you use?

    - Nikon AFD 60mm & 105mm (with, sometimes for both, 2x Teleconverter or Nikon 6T lens)

    - Sigma 150mm

    - Tokina 10-17

    Thanks for feedback

  6. Really nice; the first is my favorite as a wall hanger.

What strobes were you using? The only reason I ask, is that the blues in your wide angles look slightly green, maybe cyan, on my monitor. Is this the way the water looked or is this a strobe / white balance effect like the venerable Dr. Mustard describes?

For most of pictures, the strobes are the Nikon SB800 & Inon Z240 - at Lembeh strait, most of time, water is green... and, this time, it was a little greener as on my pictures!

  9. I like them Claude!!!

Yes first time in that area is very memorable (and 2nd, 3rd.........etc)..........!

Did you find the d300 to be a significant improvement for your shooting vs the d200? And you have Subal too, yes? Any opinions about Subal d300? [edit - oh I see you have sea and sea - didn't you have subal before? - still any observations?]

    Thanks, Carol

  10. What are you housing the SB800 in? I didn't realize you could mount that flash -- does it allow ttl? Anybody else using the nikon flash underwater?

  11. I am new to digital u/w. I think you have some really nice shots. My D300 is in the mail and I am going to order my Subal housing this week. I hope my pictures will be half as nice as yours.

    hello Carol,

In a first time, I thought the D300 had only some 'technical' enhancements which are not really useful for better pictures - the real reason for me to change was the Sea & Sea housing is much more ergonomic as the old one… Now, I realized there is much more possibilities in image improvement as with the D200: great - but I don't think yet there's really a need to upgrade unless you’re interested buy using high ISO!

    hope it helps

  13. What are you housing the SB800 in? I didn't realize you could mount that flash -- does it allow ttl?

I'm using a Subal housing... and it works fine with iTTL (and you can use some Inon strobes as slave with it) – for some user, it is not very interesting for WA... but I think it depends on the way you're taking picture!

  14. Nice images, Claude.

I especially love the porcupine puffer close-up!

  15. Fantastic photos!! beautifully done Claude!

great lighting, artistic composition... perfect macro and w/a!!

    cheers,
