  2. Nice bass! I've always wanted to say that. :-)

    Cheers

  3. Photos with 1Ds III and 14 and 24mm lenses in the Superdome....

How would you rate the corner sharpness with the 14mm in the superdome? What were your settings in the first picture?

I'm trying to get some idea of WA domes for FF chips.

Thanks for any details. How did you enjoy your trip?

  4. Yes, very nice bass. And mightly angry bass, she was defending the nest.... The males take off first chance they get.

The corner sharpness of the 14 is very good. I was surprised. I really love my Aquatica Superdome, and most of the photos are definite keepers. I hate flashes, and with the 1Ds III i can now shoot available light in many places - it gives a much better impression of the habitats.

The settings for the (peacock) bass photo are ISO 400 F/4.5 and 1/320 The image is uncropped, but taken with the 24mm 1.4 not the 14mm.

The trip was excellent, i do around 3-4 trips to the Amazon a year for more than 15 years, so the travel part is somewhat routine, the life under water is radically different each time. In the Amazon speciation occurs in much tighter quarters, so the diversity is astounding from one river system to the next.

  5. Thanks for the shooting info & photographs.
