ys-110 random flashes

3 posts
  1. Hello,

The last couple dives, my YS-110 strobe connected via fiber optic cable to my Canon a620 would randomly flash without me doing anything. It would usually flash several times in a row. It would even randomly flash when the fiber optic cable wasn't attached to the strobe, out of water. I checked the sync cord port and battery compartment for water but they were dry.

    Any ideas?

    Jason

  2. Jason,

I am having an issue with my YS-110 strobe and Sea&Sea 1G camera. Apparently there is some issue with the YS-110 optics pickup. I have not heard of any random firing issues.

You may want to take a look at the scubaboard post under http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/sea-sea/

I will let you know what I find out.

  3. Hi Jason,

I had the same problem, one of my YS-110 did go off for no reason (quite irritating during night dives :P )

I sent it back to the dealer, but they could not find any problems with it and returned it to me. I recorded a short video of if when the problem reoccurred and this time the dealer sent it back to Japan and the strobe was replaced.
