  1. I just got back from Bonaire, sadly I had to miss the Digital Shootout... Well I got some shots and updated my website, if you want to check it, click here

I used Nikon D300 on Ike box and 125`s, new flat port system, old 105, Kenko 2XTC, 4T, Sigma 17-70 and Tokina 10-17.

As interesitng note for the first time in 5 times I been in Bonaire, we decided to dive Lac Cai... so far the best dive we had, lots of tarpoons, eagle rays, HUGE turtles, and many, many fishes.. sadly vis suck there, so many crapy pics from...

    Hope you enjoy the gallery.

p.s.: comments and criticism is always appreciatted.

    Richard.

  6. Beautiful shots. Great work.

  7. How do you think the D300 handled the sun? I see you took a few into the sun.

  8. Loved the bait ball.

What did you use for WB? Do you use Auto WB or a preset?

    Thanks, great images.

Hi Alex, about light handling I concur with Berkley White about how good D300 captures the sunballs. I took some about 20-25 mts. where the cyan cast is more accentuated and look nice to me. I had the chance in the past to try D50 (Same sensor that D70s), D200 and D2X and D300 is way better ( IMHO ).

    Here are some samples.

I also think this samples are not the camera full potential, since I´m not an expert on sunballs capture.

Thanks, actually I used Auto WB. I did some tests with 4800 ºK that is DS125`s temperature, but I’m still working my way around that setting…

Thanks to all for the feedback.

  10. I enjoyed those pictures a lot. What is the toothy critter in Gallery Two, bottom of the first column? Looks indonesian an not bonairian!

  11. Thanks, this creature is a sort of snake eel, Brachysomophis I believed is the scientific name for. But I don`t know the common name.
