Nikonos Connector Pricing

  1. Hi All

a guy I sold my old Aquatica housing and Nikon F3 to just broke off one of the pins in the connector, he has the standard Nik 3 connections ie no TTL. He went to the local dealer who quoted him $AUS340 ($US325) to post him the part that he can fit himself.

Is this a 'normal' price for a connector and are there alternative suppliers for these parts?

I was amazed as I was going to upgrade one of my connectors to a Nik 5 for TTL. Cant imagine how much a TTL connector would cost.

    regards

    Hi Ardy,

Forget about Australia mate, they are bloody rip-off merchants...

Contact either Backscatter.com or ReefPhotoVideo.com both excellent USA retailers with personalised service... I think that Backscatter are the Aquatica distributers.

The other option is to contact Jean from Aquatica directly throught these pages- fantastic bloke.

I think he is Visart or something similar...do a search

    HTH,

    Bruce...

  3. Contact Aquatica directly or go to B&H Photo & Video. I picked up one from B&H a couple of years ago for under US$200 if I recall.

Ryan at Reef Photo is not an Aquatica dealer.

    Edit:

Quick lookup. I think this is what you are looking for (non-TTL):

    Nikonos non-ttl for digital

They have a TTL single version which would require you to disable the TTL pins. It's US$130.

A whole new F3 housing is in stock there for US$500.

  4. Thanks Guys this may fix Herbert's issue. If not you have at the least given me a source for a TTL connector.

    regards
