  1. This photo is another of my first. Being relatively new to U/W photography, any feedback is appreciated.

The camera settings are below. The only post processing I performed was some croping and adjusting of the curves in PhotoShop to lighten the photo up a bit.

Camera Model Name: Canon PowerShot G2

    Housing: Ikelite

    Flash: SB 105 (Single)

    Shooting Mode: Program AE

    Tv( Shutter Speed ): 1/60

    Av( Aperture Value ): 2.2

    Metering Mode: Evaluative

    Exposure Compensation: 0

    ISO Speed: 50

    Lens: 7.0 - 21.0mm

    Focal Length: 14.6mm

    Shutter curtain sync: 1st-curtain sync

    White Balance: Auto

  2. I'm envious! That's a remarkable photograph. The spotted drum is one of the more difficult critters to photograph, since they never stand still, they're constantly flitting around.

The only thing that I might do is to crop a little tighter. The drum is clearly the object of interest. Cropping would better focus the attention on the drum and also eliminate most of the lighter color coral to the left.

But it's a terrific photograph, really nice.

  3. Hi Kelly,

    congratulations, very nice shot...

I am especially interested in it because I use a Canon G2 too.One thing caught my attention : you mentionned a 1st-curtain sync... is there any way to set it up with G2. Can we set a 2d-curtain sync?

Here is my version of your shot with the same rig but different strobe (DS 125)...!

There are very few Canon G2 users on this site, feel free to share your tips !

  4. Benoit,

Thanks for the feedback on the photo.

I do not believe the G2 will allow you to select between 1st and 2nd curtain.

Most of my photography thus far has been 35mm, so I didn't really think about it until you asked the question. Here is what I have found on the G2: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canong3/

    I liked your web site.
