I've just written a bit of copy and posted 11 recent photos of Antennarius striatus in Florida including close-ups of individual lures and two frogfish "in situ" - as they say.... :)

Since it is so long I'm just going to link it here:

And no - the water isn't always that aqua-blue! :P But it was so lovely that am that I could have shot wide, which I plan to do next time it is pretty like that for sure! I'll add that I find the striated frogfish very tough to photograph well usually due to its choice of really drab environments in Florida. But sometimes things just come together rather well - thank goodness! B)

I'll also be putting together another post of other striated frogfish I've seen in Florida - and probably others I've seen too in Bali, etc.....; as its so interesting to me that that is the same species - A. striatus - worldwide in tropical/semi-tropical waters. The striated and the sargassumfish - Histrio histrio - are the only two I know of that are the same species, worldwide.

But if you are really interested in A. striatus in Florida currently I have a past photograph of it at sundown in this post here:

Your review of the Subal D30 was very useful.

Thanks Jeff, I was actually forced to work on the site unexpectedly because of all the mess caused by Apple and their new "MobileMe" switch that incorporates the new iPhone and my website, calendars, etc. all in one integrated group. It will be cool when they get the bugs out!

Good thing is I needed to work on the site anyway and I added the pic Alex took of me with 2 manatee that I just love :D (Thanks again Alex!).

I'm very technically challenged but I did figure out how to add a "Twitter Feed" sort of like Eric does (I learn so much from this site!). That is great because it takes me a bit of time to update my site and I have to have my computer -- so with the Twitter Feed I can text quickly "Saw 5 manatee moms and calves this am!". It gets picked up automatically so it will be great when I travel to keep my hubby and friends at home updated quickly.

I really like the fact that these frogfish A. striatus are the same species worldwide but vary so much. It is not that often you get to see the same fish at Secret Bay in Bali, in Alor Indonesia and then in Florida too!! Of course they vary regionally but the experts say it is the same frogfish all over.

Thanks for the compliments and I'm glad my (sleep-deprived) photos and thoughts on the d300/ND30 helped you; and I also have a goal to add some more macro one day to my site that I just hope comes close to the wonderful quality of you shots!!!!! :P

    Best Regards, Carol
