Seahorses are one of the photographic targets in the temperate waters where I dive (Victoria, Australia), and the local species vary from mottled black/brown to vibrant yellow. They are all nice in their own special ways, but I like the yellow ones the best myself.
Here is one I found recently, and the image suffered a bit from the distracting background. I have tried to tone it down a little using a layer mask. Just wondering what you think of it.
excellent focus, color & toning down the background really makes the subject pop. Composition is where I think you could still improve the image. With the eye almost dead center, there does not seem to be much flow in the overall image.
nice colour Stephen, i think the muted background does help with separation of the subject.
