  2. Very cool pix Karl. Only in Texas can you do a weekend trip (in the USA) and get to swim w/ Mantas.

I like the blue in Kimberly's shots best I think - great exposures. Did you adjust the curves and/or color balance on these shots? The upper left corner in the second shot does look a bit strange though - is that from an add-on wideangle lens?

I think I like your shot from the side the best though from a point of view of composition.

I think it's also an interesting comparison between the two cameras (and the two shooting styles :-) Were either of you using flash for these shots? The shots might be improved by moving around to the front or front quarter of the manta - but I know that's not always possible. I bet you were swimming to beat the band, trying to adjust your f-stop, adjusting your strobe, etc. Then there were those pesky other divers trying to ride the fish while you were trying to get a pic...lol! (Don't tell Bob!)

What did you think of the rest of the dives? Can't wait to see your photos.

I noticed when I was out there there were literally MILLIONS of small blenny's at Stetson.

    Cheers

  3. Kimberly's 1st shot got a very slight bit of hue adjustment.........the others got hue and saturation...........too far for the strobes to work well............the corner of the second shot is a blurred diver racing for the manta...........she was using a wa lens, but I think it's mainly blurr from the shutter speed and no flash.............you are right about composition............just lucky to get off a shot in most cases

Our other reef and fish shots are very dissappointing this trip............don't really understand why............

Hopefully we'll learn more this weekend at Seaspace
