  1. Hi,

    I´m waiting for my new Patima housing for Nikon D80. I have a substrobe Ikelite 100 Ai and I have a question: the strobe fire with a cable in manual? I think they don´t in i-ttl, but in manual some people say yes, another say no.

    best regards

  2. Yes, as long as not all 5 pins on the hot-shoe are connected to between the camera and strobe. You can put tape on the hot-shoe so that only the center pin makes a connection - or you can buy an Ikelite manual sync cord.

    Cheers

    I am using one of Patima d80 housing & there are several option on wiring, such as;

    Patima-designed 5 pin connector - good for Patima SB-800 housing w/Patima cable.

    Nexus style 5 pin connector - Ask to your dealer how they ordered/wired.

    S&S type 5 pin connector - new addition.

    I suggest to ask your dealer how they ordered/wired the housing first.

  4. Thanks for the help.

    If I tape the pins, and only the center pins make contact, it is like a manual cord?

    If I tape this pins, I have any indication in panel that flash is on?

    Best regards
