Hello, me and my wife just started with under water fotography and we really want to try to identify everything we whoot.
This is the remainder of about 200 foto's, these ones i can't identify. Hope some of you can help
1.Some kind of sandperch I think
2.Not a clue what this is
3.Another sandperch ?
4. I would think a butterflyfish family
5.Chromodoris ??
6.An Anemonefish of some kind ?
Thanks for any help.
Don't you think it would help us help you if you told us where you took these photos?
I think you are correct about the sandperch.
The nudibranch looks like a spanish dancer
The rest are damsels, and the clownfish looks like A. clarkii - at least from the back.
Cheers
James
James thx for the reply.
I made 2 topics because all foto's did not fit in 1 and i mentioned in the 2nd topic where the foto's were taken, but your right i should have included that here as well.
The foto's were taken in Anilao, Batangas, the philippines
The nudi does look a bit like a small spanish dancer but it's a Chromodoris. Theere are a couple of species that look like this - Chromodoris tinctoria, C. reticulata, plus some undescribed ones. We'd need to see the foot (under the mantle that covers the body) & better color to know which species it is
Leslie, thx for the reply.
According to a friend of mine who dive regurlaly in anilao, it is indeed a Chromodoris Reticulata.
As for #6 this might be an colour aberation of the Clarks Anemonefish, although this almost black one does not feature in any books we know of.
So you might be right there james.
Al the other remain unidentified so far
The sandperches are
4-eyed Sandperch and the Balckbares Sandperch (1 and 3)
