Indonesia and inexpensive?

  1. HI

I am looking to go to Indonesia in August for 3 weeks with 2 friends but have to keep the costs down (ie no liveaboards or all inclusive resorts). Thinking of Sulawesi but have heard mixed reviews. We would like to find a place that is cheap enough that we can do a lot of diving to work on our photography. Spent too much money on equipment. :-)

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

  2. I believe Bob "cybergoldfish" has a great deal for a two week liveaboard in September in that area.

If anything, he is very knowledgeable in the area. He is actually in Bali and Komodo right now. I'm sure he can help.

  3. Dear Wesley,

You might be interested in Froggies, Bunaken national marine park, North Sulawesi.

Christiane runs the place very well and there's loads of things to see and it's a diving and photography paradise. Check out their web site (forgot the exact name, but google and froggies bunaken will get you there).

  4. If there's any chance of you changing the dates of your trip you will find some really great deals during July - it's pretty much half price at Kungkungan Bay Resort as well as Santika hotel, north of Manado.

But as soon as it hits August, the prices go back to top dollar!!
