Marine life in Santo

  1. I recently visited Santo (Vanuatu) to dive the wreck of the President Coolidge. Had an amazing week, diving one really amazing wreck! The vis wasn't great for WA wreck shots, although I did get a bunch I was more or less happy with (when my strobe was working).

One of the hightlights for me though, much to the dismay of my mates, was seeing this giant manta gliding over the wreck! Now don't get me wrong, I love wreck diving, but it was very nice to see something else there as well!

More photos from the week are up here.

    Hope you enjoy,

    Ryan.

  2. Thanks Ryan, Looks like you had a great time! Enjoyed your Smugbug site. What the heck is the story behind the shot of your friend with no suit on? Can't wait to hear this one. :D

  3. Thanks Steve! This is what happens when you let an instructor go away and do pleasure dives for a week. It was his home made 'merkin'. I think he originally had it for a caveman costume at a party (yes, we'd seen it before!).

The funniest part was watching him climb into his wetsuit underwater while on Deco so he didn't freeze his unmentionables off!

  4. That funny indeed! :D

Nice wreek shots! Looks like you had some nice evenings too...

    I love the Manta!
