Housing for Canon EOS 400D

  1. Hi Guys

I am new to underwter photography. I have a Canon EOS 400D and i am looking at getting a underwater housing and strobe setup. Any suggestions? I am also looking at this lens AF DX Fisheye Tokina 10-17mm/f3.5-4.5 AT-X lens. Is this a good choice for underwater work. Or what would you guys recomend??

I'm happy for any feed back.

  2. Hi Kelvin and welcome.

    That is a great choice!

There is an excellent used market out there for 400D housings, so have a look around here and on Ebay.

    Cheers

    James

  3. Ok, i've had a bit of a look around and have come up with the following. Please make any adjusments or recomendations if i have left something out.

I plan to get an Ikelite Housing #6871.10 with port #5503 which according to Ikelite will fit both the 18-55mm kit lens and the Tokina 10-17mm.

As far as strobes go I think i will go with the #3944.51 Digital Package which includes:

    #4103.51 Digital TTL Sync Cord

    #4044.1 DS-51 SubStrobe with diffuser

    #4086.61 Ball Socket Arm system

Do i need 2 of these packs so i can have 2 strobes which i believe is better to shoot with or will 1 strobe do?

I think that's all, but please make suggestions.
