Anyone had trouble with baggage in San Juan LATELY?

  1. I know there is a pinned thread on baggage theft in San Juan here in these forums, http://wetpixel.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=14761, but I see the last post is in September 2007. Does anyone have an update, good or bad, on the situation?

I ask because I am offering a Digital Master class in Bonaire the first week of Feb. 09, and would like to be able to communicate timely travel advise to our guests.

    Thanks.

I can only offer personal anecdotal experience. My wife and I went thru San Juan en route to Dominica this April/May (both ways), and nothing ended up missing. I carried most of my camera gear, but our checked bags had my dome port, reg, and dive computer in it.

  3. YES!! The thieves are still working hard in San Juan. One of the videographers going to the Bonaire Digital Shootout had all of their video equipment stolen. They had to compete on borrowed/demo gear. They still won something, though....
