Wet lens for DMC-TZ5?

3 posts
  1. I just bought myself a Panasonic DMC-TZ5 camera ( http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electro...000000000005702 ) along with the matching housing ( http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/5513...Housing_f_.html )

According to the BH Photo website Epoque makes a lens adapter that will work with this housing ( http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/5444...r_for_most.html ) so that I can use their wet lens ( http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/5444...Wide_Angle.html )

I haven't seen this setup used anywhere else before so I emailed BH Photo and was told that although they advertised it as such, they really have no idea if it would work because they don't have time to try out every camera combination! :)

I asked if they could try it out in the store before I bought it and was told that they don't have time. I also asked if I could try it out in the pool to see if it really does work and they said "No".

So, now I'm aksing everyone on here to see if anyone has tried it and whether or not they think it will work.

    Thanks,

    Jon

  2. For reference, Inon makes a "Lens Arm" for this configuration. However, close-up lenses only.

Mark, what would happen with a wide lens? Would it just be vignetting, or would there also be focus problems? I'm considering the TZ5 and the FX35, so this could be a deciding factor.
