  1. Hi,

can anyone tell me of the best liveaboard in bahamas. im thinking of booking something but after looking at all the liveaboards they offer i dont know which one to choose. i would like a week long plus something newer with more cabin space!

  2. If you want full on photography then JASA .

Guarantee great pictures and a 100 % full on experience.

As for new with more cabin space then this is not quite up there with the Red Sea boats.

But I know where I am going again - ASAP.

I was on this trip - here - Ah do you like Sharks ?

    Best at what?

Something newer with cabin space? Probably Aqua Cat or Caribbean Explorer I, although neither are new. At the complete other end of the spectrum is Blackbeard's. JASA, aka the Shearwater, is not new, nor is it roomy.

The Bahamas are a big place, which means many different itineraries for a weeks worth of diving. You might consider choosing the itinerary you want, then the boat. If, however, boat comfort is a key requirement, then the Aqua Cat is probably the best choice. There are some other higher end liveaboard charters, but I can't remember their names. They are usually full boat charters. The Nekton would be OK, but a step down from the Aqua Cat and CEI.

  4. I stayed on the Aqua Cat. As long as you get one of the main cabins the space is very large. (In other words don't cheap out and book Cabin 11).

  5. I have done 4 Aquacat cruises, and 17 Nekton cruises. Both have large staterooms with individual bathrooms with a shower. The Aquacat has rooms that are a bit nicer, and the food is better, and it is more expensive. The Nekton boats have better itineraries, and has a better camera table set-up. I plan on continuing to use both liveaboards. AQUACAT=HAPPIER WIFE :) , NEKTON=BETTER PHOTOS :drink: (IMHO, YMMV)

  6. Does anyone have any experience with http://www.sharkexpedition.com/ Dolphin Dream Team

I have recently heard good thigns about them from at least 43 if not 4 separate sources.

Would be interesting to hear if anyone else knows anything about them or has experience with them as they have really had top praise from randomly different people in the last month.

  7. Undercurrent.org might be good resource. I wonder if Nekton got their nitrox squared away sometime these last couple of years...

I was on the Nekton Pilot in April, and they were pumping 29 to 30 % Nitrox consistently. I leave for Cay SAl on the Pilot tomorrow, I'll let you know if it is still working (provided we don't get cancelled due to the tropical depression/storm.
